Chambray Bloomers

I combined two of my favorites today while sewing: chambray and bloomers!  Bloomers have become one of the best things for me to sew for babies and toddlers, because they take about an hour to make cut to finish, and they look so cute with just a onesie or under a dress/long shirt.

Of course, I had to make Kate some chambray bloomers.  They’ll go with pretty much anything, and she loves to crawl in them because they make her slide super speedy!  Not that she needed help getting across the floor quickly… This child!

I wanted to make the bloomers big enough for her to wear for a while, so right now they’re kind of huge on her, but I just pushed the ankles up to under her knee.  Her chubby little legs hold the legs up quite well, and she has plenty of growing room.  The loose fit is totally growing on me, and I can’t wait to make some more!  Up next: hopefully some bloomers and coordinating top out of the new Les Fleurs fabric by Rifle Paper, Co.
