Christmas at my in-laws usually starts off with us opening presents as early as we can wake everyone up, which usually means we make as much noise as possible as early as possible.  One of the best presents we received this year was socks that Zachary’s grandmother knit.  Handmade gifts are always awesome!  After presents, Zachary’s mom made delicious Belgian waffles with her cute little heart shaped waffle iron.  We spent the rest of the day eating cookies, relaxing and even managed to fit in some sewing.  My mother-in-law showed me some fancy embroidery stitches, and we recruited as many people as possible to help with cutting out flowers for a kit that she designed.  Thank goodness for extra hands and scissors, or we would still be cutting!

We’re back home now, and I’m excited to get back in my sewing room and make some of these cute bags.
