New Year

Yes, I realize the New Year started 12 days ago, but better late than never!  What better way to start out the New Year than with a project!  My dear mother bought me this book for Christmas, and I couldn’t wait to get started! I chose to start with the Tulip Tote, since I needed a bag that would hold a little more than what I need when I run errands around town.  I love how my bag turned out!

The instructions were easy to follow with illustrations to clarify.  Since I’ve never used grommets in a project before, I was a little worried.  Especially when I went to cut out the circles!  There’s something scary about cutting holes in something you worked so hard on!  Turns out that the grommets were super easy to install, and the most difficult part of the project was edge-stitching the binding, so that it looked nice on the inside and out.  After ripping off the binding multiple times, I finally cut out a new binding and decided to leave off the edge-stitching and move on.
